Aerial parcel landscape representing nationwide property-data coverage

PropertyLayer listed 3,141 available county products across 51 state-level jurisdictions on September 7, 2026. Those county products contained 162,666,780 records in total.

This snapshot counts a county product only when the catalog marked it available and reported a parcel count greater than zero. It does not count unavailable catalog rows or state-level bundle rows as counties. The 51 jurisdictions include the District of Columbia.

Largest state record totals

State County-product records
Texas 13,899,870
California 12,260,357
Florida 10,924,991
New York 8,402,855
Ohio 6,383,099
Pennsylvania 5,985,001
North Carolina 5,914,128
Illinois 5,832,401

These totals sum the available county products within each state. They describe records in the catalog, not population, buildings, owners, or mailing addresses.

How to reproduce the snapshot

The public JSON snapshot contains the exact totals used in this article. Its checked-in source is src/data/coverage-snapshots/2026-09-07.json. The accompanying script, scripts/create-coverage-snapshot.mjs, requests the product catalog, keeps available county rows with positive parcel counts, then computes jurisdiction and state totals.

Run it with:

node scripts/create-coverage-snapshot.mjs

The live catalog will change as sources are added or refreshed, so a later run may not equal this dated result. The artifact records the numbers used here and the counting rule.

What this snapshot does not show

Coverage count alone does not answer whether a county publishes the owner, address, assessment, building, sales, or geometry fields a workflow needs. Presence rates vary by county and by field. Source dates vary too.

Use the coverage directory to inspect the current state and county entries. Each generated county page reports its listed record count, bulk price, GEOID, and available field-presence measures. The coverage evaluation guide explains how to turn those facts into a purchase or integration check.
